NAVAJO HOGAN restaurant is a family-owned business, established in 1989. It is well known for its mouthwatering Native American dishes. The owners are of Native American (Jemez Pueblo) and Spanish decent. They were born and raised in New Mexico. With a lot of hard work, determination and perseverance, Navajo Hogan is flourishing, and is frequented by people from all over the world.

Navajo Hogan has been reviewed favorably in local newspapers several times. The Restaurant was also voted one of the best places to eat in Salt Lake City, and was featured in Gourmet Magazine (January 2002) as one of the top ten eateries in Salt Lake City.

Navajo Hogan sponsors a 5K Fun Run/Walk each year, in conjunction with the South Salt Lake City's INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION!!!. This years 5K race will be held on Saturday June 28, 2008.

WHAT IS A NAVAJO TACO? It starts with fresh homemade Fry Bread, which is then topped with homemade chili beans, cheddar cheese, freshly chopped lettuce, tomatoes, onions, homemade salsa, and sour cream. It isn't like any other taco, however makes an excellent meal!

The menu consists primarily of American Indian fry bread, offering daily specials, with a variety of different toppings, made with blue bird flour, blue corn meal, yellow corn meal, wheat, or red chili. Navajo Hogan serves traditional Indian tacos, prepared by hand using Blue Bird flour and topped with chili beans cooked from scratch using our own chili recipe. Everything is prepared fresh daily.

Indian Tacos can be prepared with a huge variety of different toppings, such as chili beans, hamburger beef, shredded roast beef, grilled chicken, black or pinto beans, and New Mexico green and red chili (For those who like it hot!) prepared fresh daily. For dessert, you can enjoy a sweet fry bread topped with honey butter, cinnamon and sugar or powdered sugar. On Saturdays, Navajo Hogan serves a mutton stew made with fresh vegetables. This homemade stew is very popular, so get in early, before it's gone!
